Jostin, age 4, managed to do a lot with his right foot, because it was the only intact limb that he was born with. When he received a prosthesis for his left leg from Prótesis para la Vida, in October 2009, he was able to walk independently within a few weeks. Update: Jostin has received upper limb prostheses from us but were too heavy for his small frame and not as practical as using his foot.  Jostin is a top student, writing with his foot and able to participate fully in all second grade activities.  We continue to keep his lower limb prosthesis updated as needed, and expect that at some point Jostin will use one or two upper limb prostheses, but at this point they are not necessary. Jostin will continue to need prosthetic care throughout his life.
