Carlita, age 18 months, was born without a leg below the knee. When she came to the clinic she was very scared and anxious that these strangers kept looking at her residual limb. After she was fitted with her prosthesis, she immediately started standing and taking wobbly steps. Two weeks later Carlita came back and she was all smiles. She took running lunges between her mom and whoever was holding out their arms.
